Celebrating with Your Advent Wreath

The first purple candle symbolizes the long years of waiting for a Savior, embodying the anticipation and hope that the Messiah is on the way. 
The second purple candle signifies Israel’s preparation for the Christ child, as well as our own readiness for the second coming of Jesus. 
The third candle, known as the rose candle, represents joy—the delight in knowing the Messiah is coming and that you are drawing nearer. 
The fourth purple candle reflects the peace that God offers to all who patiently await Him. 
- Light the first purple candle on this Sunday, November 30, 2025, the 1st Sunday of Advent. 
- On the 2nd Sunday of Advent, light both the first and second purple candles. 
- On the 3rd Sunday of Advent, illuminate the first, second purple candles, and the rose candle. 
- On the 4th Sunday of Advent, light all the purple and rose candles. 
- Finally, on Christmas Day, honor Jesus’ birth by lighting the white candle in the center of the wreath.

The optional white candle positioned in the center of your Advent wreath is not intended for Advent itself, as this season concludes on Christmas Eve. Instead, this candle is lit on Christmas Day to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
