BEING A CHRISTIAN MEANS LEARNING TO BE A GREAT PARENTS
by Rev. Gabriel Augustine, MF

Raising kids today is like walking on eggshells. You think you are doing it right, and your kid doesn’t understand, don’t agree with, say no to it, then you ask yourself, “Am I doing the right think?”.  With all the stress and frustration, you just give-up being the parent that God wants you to be. Each person is created to nurture others, to use our gifts to help others, support each other in becoming everything that God wants you to be. That is what it is to be “parent” that is what it is to learn to be human. Parenting is hard, but not because kids are tough, or people are hard to deal with. It’s hard because healing is hard. The harder we find parenting to be, the more God is calling us to heal, and even more importantly the more God is promising to pour his healing grace into our hearts so that your family can finally experience all “nurturing love” he wants you to give to your children.
If you are struggling with your parenting, follow our Parish Bulletin inserts, “Family First”. It will be a great help to you.
