Finance Council
The Parish Finance Council is a mandatory, consultative body in every parish, ordained by Canon 537 of the 1983 Code of Canon Law to advise the pastor on the administration of parish goods and temporal affairs.
The Finance Council of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish serves as a trusted advisory body that supports the pastor in the responsible stewardship of the parish’s financial resources. Rooted in our Catholic values and committed to transparency, accountability, and prudent planning, the Council helps ensure that the parish remains strong, sustainable, and ready to carry out its mission of worship, service, and evangelization.
Our Mission
The mission of the Finance Council is to assist the pastor in overseeing the financial health of the parish so that our ministries, sacramental life, facilities, and outreach efforts may continue to flourish. Through careful review, thoughtful recommendations, and a shared commitment to good stewardship, the Council helps guide decisions that serve the parish community today and strengthen it for the future.
What We Do
The Finance Council works in collaboration with parish leadership to:
A Spirit of Stewardship
As Catholics, we recognize that all gifts come from God and are entrusted to us for the good of the Church and the building up of the Kingdom. The Finance Council embraces this spirit of stewardship by promoting wise use of parish resources, careful planning, and faithful service to the mission of Christ.
Working Together for the Parish
The Finance Council is not simply about numbers and budgets; it is about supporting the life of the parish. Every financial decision affects our ability to celebrate the sacraments, welcome families, form disciples, care for the poor, and maintain a vibrant parish home for all who gather in faith.
In Service of the Mission
With prayer, discernment, and collaboration, the Finance Council helps our parish remain financially healthy and mission-focused. Its work supports the ongoing vitality of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and contributes to the flourishing of a community rooted in faith, generosity, and hope.
